Guide

What does market exclusivity mean in plastic surgery marketing?

Market exclusivity means a marketing company works with only one surgeon in a given area, so it never runs competing campaigns for two practices chasing the same patients. At Pagerising, once a surgeon claims a market, no other surgeon in that area runs the system, and every prepaid consultation generated there goes to that surgeon.

Why does exclusivity matter?

Without it, one marketing company could run ads for several surgeons in the same city, aimed at the same facelift-ready patients. The practices would be competing with each other through the same partner, and every surgeon would be asking whether their campaign was getting the best effort.

Exclusivity removes that question. With one surgeon per market, there are no shared territories: once a market is claimed, it is that surgeon's, and no other surgeon in the area runs the Pagerising system.

It also matters to patients. Someone considering a facelift in your city should see one surgeon presented clearly, not several practices presented in the same way by the same company. When the coordinator calls that patient, there is only one surgeon to book them with.

How does Pagerising define a market?

Markets are claimed city by city. The availability check on our homepage starts with one question, "Where is your practice located?", and Pagerising operates on a strict one-partner-per-market model: we cannot take a second practice in the same city.

Campaigns then target facelift-ready patients in that surgeon's exact market, so the ads reach the patients the practice can actually serve. Every prepaid consultation generated in that market is booked with that one surgeon.

What happens if your market is already taken?

Markets are first come, first served. If another surgeon has already claimed your city, the availability check tells you, and we will not take a second practice there.

Why one surgeon, one market and one specialty?

Pagerising is built around a focused approach: one system, one market, one specialty. Campaigns are built from day one around the surgeon's specialty, and the patient coordinators confirm a specialty match before booking. Concentrating on one surgeon per area is what makes it possible to say that every prepaid consultation generated there comes to that surgeon.

Competition in some markets is intense. Before working with Pagerising, Dr. Malcolm Lesavoy described "high competition in Beverly Hills market." His results are in the Beverly Hills case study.

What should a surgeon ask a marketing partner about exclusivity?

Exclusivity is a term many companies use, and it is worth checking what it covers. Before signing with any marketing partner, ask:

  • Do you work with any other surgeon in my city? And would you take one on later?
  • How do you define my market? A city, a radius, a region?
  • Does exclusivity cover the procedures I care about? A partner focused on one specialty can say so plainly.
  • Who receives the patients generated in my area? The answer should be one practice: yours.

Clear answers to these questions tell you whether the campaign run in your area will be working only for you.

Does exclusivity stop other surgeons advertising in my area?

No. Exclusivity is a commitment about who Pagerising works with. It does not, and could not, stop other practices in your city from advertising themselves or working with someone else. What it means is that Pagerising will not run its system for a competing surgeon in your market.

Questions surgeons also ask

How do I check whether my market is available?

Use the availability check on the Pagerising homepage. It asks where your practice is located and tells you whether that market has already been claimed.

What counts as a market for Pagerising?

A city. The availability check asks where your practice is located, and Pagerising takes one practice per city.

Can two surgeons in the same city both work with Pagerising?

No. Pagerising works with one surgeon per market and will not take a second practice in the same city.

Does exclusivity mean no other surgeon in my city can advertise?

No. It means Pagerising will not run its system for another surgeon in your market. Other practices can still advertise independently.
